We are excited to welcome our students and families back for the 2026–2027 school year! Here are the most important things to know as we get started:
📅 1. First Day of School – September 9
Grades 1–6 return Wednesday, September 9 with early dismissal at 11:20 a.m. Buses leave beginning at 11:27 a.m. Kindergarten families will follow their graduated-entry schedule.
🎒 2. Class Placements & First-Day Information
On the first day, school staff will help students locate their new classrooms. Class lists will be posted on the front and back of the school after 8:15. There will be no class changes for the first 10 days.
🔔 3. Bell Schedule
School begins at 8:55 a.m. and ends at 2:55 p.m. View our full schedule for recess, lunch, and dismissal times.
🚌 4. Drop-Off, Pick-Up & Transportation
Review our drop-off and pick-up procedures via the family handbook and register your child for the school bus here. All new and returning bus students must register.
📞 5. Attendance & Safe Arrival
If your child will be absent or late, please use the SchoolMessenger SafeArrival app or call 1-833-582-6944. Please do not call the school to report absences.
✏️ 6. School Supplies & Fees
School supply fees are $45 per student and can be paid at the office or by e-transfer via cat.finance@sd27.bc.ca – please put your students name in the memo line. On the first day, students only need indoor shoes, a snack, and a water bottle.
📝 7. Forms & Student Information
Student Verification and Media/Computer Consent forms will be sent home during the first week. Please review your information carefully and return the forms promptly.

Keep up with Cataline through our school newsletters, calendars, school website, and Facebook page for important updates, upcoming events, learning, and celebrations.
🤝 9. PAC, StrongStart & Our School Community
Learn more about getting involved with PAC by coming to the first meeting on Monday, September 14 (5:30pm – library), registering for StrongStart, and reviewing Cataline's Code of Conduct.
